Parking below the solar panels of Oranjestad

The solar park on the Reina Beatrix International Airport in Oranjestad on Aruba is more than halfway complete. Soon visitors will be able to park below a section of the solar panels; the park is expected to be finished after the summer.

At the moment the final touches are being made to the cabling for lighting and CCTV cameras; both are really necessary for the parking garage as it will be dark because of the canopies. Croon Caribe will deliver and install the cabling of the solar park and the lighting for the parking spaces below the 14,400 panels that are being installed at the moment.

Not only will the solar park supply green energy, it is also an advantage that the cars are not parked in the sun. The solar park is expected to generate 3.3 MW. This is enough to supply 1,500 average households.
